Trainings

1. Viva girls workshop took place at West pokot on 12th May 2020,Marsabit county on 2nd July 2020, Narok county in the following areas;Olulung’a on11th-12th May 2020 and 11th-12th May 2020),Enoretet(July 2020),Poroko(17th July 2020) and Oldonyo Enkopit(16th July 2020). Girls were trained on reproductive health issues,drug abuse,FGM,early marriages,early pregnancies,rape and education.They were also educated on measures they should observe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2.Indigenous Women workshop took place at Narok County(Kilgoris) on 16th,17th,18th and 19th of July 2020.The workshop had a total of 15 women groups.The main agenda was training the women on Land rights and Economic empowerment through agriculture.

3.Boys workshop took place at Olulung’a,Narok county on 8th July 2020

4.Indigenous women workshop took place at Transmara Narok county.The workshop was attended by women from different women groups at different centers.It was held at these centers on different dates;On 17th and 20th August 2020( Aic Lepolosi),18th-19th august 2020(AIC Endoinyo Nkopit compassion),21st-22nd August 2020(Enooretet methodist church) 24th-25th August 2020(Elorukoti resource and knowledge centre).The women were trained on land rights and economic empowerment through agriculture

5.On 22nd August,Indigenous Women’s workshop took place at Kiltamany Isiolo,the women were asked how covid 19 has affected them and their progress with daily lives was noted.

6.Women workshop was held at Paran Resource Centre Ololulung’a on 24th August 2020 to 27th August 2020.The women were trained on land rights,gender based violence,women and children rights and leadership.

7.Viva girls workshop took place at Narok county Ololkurto and Melelo on 28th August 2020 and 29th August 2020 respectively.The viva girls were trained on health reproductive rights,drug abuse,education issues,harmful cultural practices,poverty and peer pressure.

8.Viva Girls workshop took place at Kiltamany Samburu county on 15th September 2020.The girls were trained on health reproductive rights,education issues,peer pressure,harmful cultural practices and peer pressure.

9.Viva Girls workshop took place at Ololulung’a Narok county on 22nd and 23rd September 2020.Girls were trained on harmful cultural practices,reproductive health issues,education issue,drug abuse and peer pressure.

10.In September,the Indigenous Women from Narok(Ololulunga) and Transmara(Kilgoris) were trained on income generating activities such as soap making and poultry farming.

11.On 28th and 29th September 2020,Women workshop took place at Namanga.The indigenous women were trained on coping mechanisms amid and post Covid-19 and Indigenous Women’s rights.

12.The Indigenous Information network took the profiles for the women groups both in Narok,West pokot and Samburu County between the Month of October and November.

13.Viva girls training took place in Naramum,West pokot county on 29th November.47 girls were trained about harmful cultural practices,reproductive health issues,education issue,drug abuse and peer pressure.
